WHY SUPPORT BARD?
For a century and a half, Bard
College has been changing
lives with discoveries that improve the world, with knowledge that enlightens
and inspires, with an educational environment that prepares students for lives
of impact.
Excellence is expensive.
Bard is committed to an educational and research environment that is
outstanding in its depth and breadth. To continue to hire the best faculty,
provide the highest quality resources, and to attract the brightest students,
we need your support. Gifts to the
Alumni/ae Fund make these resources possible. To support Bard and make a gift now, please

Tuition does not cover the cost of an education.
Even as tuition rises, it still does not cover the cost of education.
Tuition dollars cover 80 percent of the cost to educate one Bard student. Gifts from you and others keep education
affordable for future students.
A liberal arts & sciences education is more relevant than ever.
A liberal arts and sciences education is prized in today's job market
because it teaches students how to analyze, create, problem-solve, and succeed
in a globalizing world. Thanks to gifts from alumni/ae, students are able to complete their studies and gain invaluable experience in internships and job opportunities.
You can make dreams come true.
Education opens doors and is the cornerstone of the American dream. Bard
challenges students to realize their potential and to lead lives of impact. And
every year, hundreds of students benefit from this education because of
scholarships and fellowships made possible by gifts, like yours. More than 60 percent of Bard student receive some
sort of financial support.
You can change the world.
Education is only part of what goes on in Bard. Its research programs, which your gifts help support, are
changing the world, from the invention of life-saving drugs to award-winning
creative writing programs.
