Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York City
In 1910, students at St. Stephen's College celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a 'Jubilee Banquet' at the Hotel Astor in New York City. Now,100 years later, the Trustees of Bard College and the Bard- St. Stephen's Alumni/ae Association will host a cocktail party and gala dinner to commemorate Bard's sesquicentennial anniversary and to honor President Leon Botstein's 35 years of extraordinary service to Bard.
The Sequicentennial Jubilee was conceived by a member of Bard's Board of Trustees as an opportunity to bring the members of the Bard family together for one elegant night to honor Bard's history, celebrate its present, and build for its future.
At this year's Commencement and Alumni/ae Reunion Weekend, President Botstein formally announced the 150th Anniversary Campaign for Bard College. This Jubilee celebration is designed to further the goals of the Campaign and highlight Bard's unique place in the world of education.
This benefit evening will be in two parts: a cocktail party and seated dinner. The cocktail party will function as a one-time-only replacement for Bard's Annual Holiday Party, usually held in early December. There will be an archival photography exhibit and opportunity to meet Bard alumni/ae, as well as other pivotal people in Bard's extended and supportive family.
